The concept and strategy was created by Richard J. Holcombe, a 35-year veteran of apparel, footwear, and sporting goods industries whose experience includes 18 years with business start-ups or companies in need of a turnaround or revitalization.
He played a leading role in brand expansion and product acquisition for major apparel and gear companies including Blair, The Ford Motor Company, Gear.com, Chipman-Union, The Rockport Company, Reebok, and Woolrich.
He has extensive P&L and board level experience.
Mr. Holcombe has put together a board of directors, an advisory board and management team of professionals experienced in all aspects of the business The Company is a family business that includes his Holcombe first cousins (all successful business executives) as principals.
Thus the "Holcombe Group" name was selected.
The Holcombe Group Inc. started doing business on October 1, 2006.
